Salary: $28.00 to $35.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 20 to 100 hours per week
Employment Type: Seasonal employment Full time
Location: Eaglesham, AB
Shifts: To be determined
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence
Type of crops: Canola
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Equipment and machinery experience: Farm truck, Tractor, Combine harvester, Fertilizer applicator, Seed drill, Swather, and Tillage equipment
Own tools/equipment: Gloves and Steel-toed safety boots
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience in dry pea and bean farming, be knowledgeable in oilseed (except soybean) farming, and have expertise in wheat farming
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- The candidates should be capable of efficiently performing repetitive tasks and excel at working under pressure
- The candidates should be able to safely handle heavy loads and be physically fit for demanding tasks
- The candidates should possess a strong attention to detail and be able to perform bending, crouching, and kneeling when necessary
- The candidates should be prepared to handle a large workload and be willing to work overtime as required
- The candidates should be comfortable with sitting for extended periods if necessary and able to handle weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and more than 45 kg (100 lbs) when necessary
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate flexibility in adapting to different situations and exhibit reliability in their work and commitments
- The candidates should be team players, capable of collaborating effectively with others, and uphold strong values and ethics in their work practices
- The candidates should be quick learners, able to grasp new concepts and tasks rapidly
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops, fertilize and spray crops, harvest crops, and operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
