Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of 3 or 4 year College program
Experience: Candidates should have previous farm experience and some poultry breeder experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work independently
- The candidates should live within 25 kilometers of the farm
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate a commitment to safe work practices
- The candidates should understand and follow all CHEQ/Biosecurity/Animal Welfare procedures and should have leadership experience and should possess a proven ability in their current position
- The candidates should have knowledge, understanding, and ability to work in a regulated industry and should have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- The candidates should exhibit a solid continuous learning attitude demonstrated by an embrace of change and innovation and have mechanical ability
- The candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills, process-based leadership in a supply-managed environment
- The candidates should have a good working knowledge of MS Productivity Tools – Word, Excel and should be highly motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- The candidates should have good writing skills and have Farm operations experience
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to supervise the daily operations of a poultry farm, ensuring quality and production objectives are achieved within budget controls
- The candidates should be able to manage programs and processes in compliance with Animal Welfare, Health and Safety, and Biosecurity industry standards, assuring adherence to all breeder and Animal Welfare programs
- The candidates should be able to handle employee management and administration, including training and discipline, and ensure employee safety and compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act
- The candidates should be able to maintain established production levels of 30,000 – 100,000 broiler/breeders and ensure that all company rules, regulations, and policies are adhered to
- The candidates should be able to take responsibility for the development and management of fiscal budgets for the location and schedule hourly employees
- The candidates should be able to create, update, and follow company SOP’s, input daily SAP production data, and participate in the development of a maintenance program
- The candidates should be able to oversee capital projects and pricing of equipment, ensuring machinery and equipment are safe, and hourly employees are trained and qualified on machinery prior to working on machinery and equipment
- The candidates should be able to maintain a safe working environment by educating and directing employees on the use of equipment and resources while maintaining compliance with OHSA, JHSC recommendations, Company safety rules, GMP’s, and CHEQ including documentation
