Salary: $16.75 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Seasonal employment Full time
Location: Keremeos, BC
Shifts: Day, Weekend
Work setting: Staff accommodation available and Relocation costs covered by employer
Type of crops: Apples, Asparagus, Carrots, Melons, and Tomatoes
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Equipment and machinery experience: Farm truck, Fruit harvester, Planting equipment, Tractor, and Vegetable harvester
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience in organic farming and other vegetables and melon farming (except potato)
- The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and in wet/damp, dusty, and hot conditions
- The candidates should be adept at managing repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, and performing physically demanding activities
- The candidates should have a strong attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to perform tasks involving sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods, walking, and bending, crouching, and kneeling
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and demonstrate flexibility in adapting to various situations
- The candidates should exhibit good judgment in decision-making and be organized in their work
- The candidates should be a team player
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to hand-harvest vegetables and mix fertilizer
- The candidates should be able to fertilize and spray crops, as well as harvest crops
