Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 5 years or more
Area of specialization: Beef cattle, Horses
Equipment and machinery experience: Tractor, Farm truck, Haying equipment, Skidsteer, Forklift, Hand tools 

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience in beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots, fruit and vegetable combination farming, hay farming, other grain farming, and other miscellaneous animal and crop farming
  • The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and able to work in dusty, hot, noisy, wet/damp, and dirty environments
  • The candidates should be comfortable working with livestock
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment, capable of working effectively under pressure and meeting tight deadlines efficiently
  • The candidates should be prepared for the physically demanding nature of the job, adept at handling repetitive tasks efficiently, and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail in their work
  • The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads as required, be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and manage a large workload effectively
  • The candidates should possess good hand-eye coordination, be comfortable sitting for extended periods, and be comfortable standing for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to walk for extended periods as needed and perform activities such as bending, crouching, and kneeling

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent oral communication skills and possess efficient interpersonal skills for effective communication, being organized in managing their workload and tasks
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate effectively as a team player and demonstrate flexibility in their approach to tasks and schedules, exercising good judgment in decision-making
  • The candidates should demonstrate reliability in their work performance and be quick learners, able to adapt to new tasks and responsibilities efficiently

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and guide the behavior of farm animals effectively, diagnose livestock health issues accurately, and disinfect pens, barns, or poultry houses meticulously
  • The candidates should be able to handle animals with care and attention, monitor the calving process attentively, and perform animal grooming activities with precision
  • The candidates should be able to perform livestock feeding tasks efficiently, treat livestock health issues with expertise, and participate in weeding activities as needed
  • The candidates should be able to fertilize and spray crops accurately, feed and tend to animals diligently, and operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment proficiently
  • The candidates should ensure that farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed at all times, formulate feeding programs effectively, and train horses with expertise
  • The candidates should be able to clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens thoroughly, detect diseases and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry accurately, and perform general farm duties as required
  • The candidates should be able to set and monitor water lines, airflow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops meticulously
