Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have knowledge and experience with budget and accounting procedures, and financial planning processes

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be capable of preparing annual work plans and budget estimates, monitoring and reconciling expenditures, compiling complex data, and extracting relevant information to provide reports and analyses
  • The candidates should possess proven work experience in providing administrative, financial, and human resources support services
  • The candidates should demonstrate a proven ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, and program policies and procedure
  • The candidates should be proficient with computers and all aspects of desktop software such as word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, internet, and financial applications
  • The candidates should possess knowledge of administrative and office procedures, practices, guidelines, and equipment
  • The candidates should have experience with telephone operations and etiquette to provide effective customer service
  • The candidates should exhibit tact and excellent judgment skills necessary to ensure the confidentiality and security of files and records
  • The candidates should demonstrate leadership and teamwork skills to provide training and direction, recommend performance targets, and assist with performance reviews of support staff
  • The candidates should display a proven ability to compose correspondence and reports independently with their initiative or from brief instructions
  • The candidates should have highly effective interpersonal skills to build relationships with a variety of internal and external clients and staff
  • The candidates should possess proven analytical skills to analyze and interpret complex financial information and reports
  • The candidates should have the ability to determine the best way to handle a task, situation, or information request
  • The candidates should be capable of identifying and resolving discrepancies relating to invoices and updating financial reports
  • The candidates should have good judgment and decision-making skills to respond to radio emergency transmissions
  • The candidates should demonstrate highly effective organizational and prioritization skills to assess administrative requirements, determine and schedule priorities among conflicting demands
  • The candidates should have a proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • The candidates should possess the ability to work with radio operations and equipment
  • The candidates should be proficient in typing

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide financial, administrative, human resources, and clerical support to the team
  • The candidates should be able to provide group leadership to seasonal and summer staff

  • The candidates should be able to provide a variety of administrative functions on field fire assignments
