Salary: $17.00 hourly for 40 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Overtime, On Call

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in wet or damp conditions and handle repetitive tasks while demonstrating attention to detail
  • The candidates should be capable of standing for extended periods and able to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should exhibit reliability

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to cut, clean, and trim fish or seafood before marketing or further processing, including scraping away scales, separating fillets, and removing scrap parts using a knife
  • The candidates should be able to check fish fillets to determine the optimal number and size of fillet sections, cut sections according to specifications, and place them in containers for weighing, as well as weigh fish or shellfish, record the weight, and pack fish in ice for preservation
  • The candidates should be able to set up and operate machines to can, bag, box, or otherwise package fish and seafood products, as well as set up and operate machines to clean, cut, cook, smoke, brine, dehydrate, or otherwise process fish or seafood products
  • The candidates should be able to clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain hygiene standards and sort fish according to species, weight, and destination for efficient processing and distribution
