Ocean Gate Fishery LTD., based in Richmond, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Fish plant worker. We are a fishing company whose headquarters are in Richmond, BC, Canada. We are a certified Marine Stewardship Council fishery, supporting sustainable fishing practices. Our operations are ocean-wise and trace registered. All of our fish are inspected on-site by one of our full-time Quality Control experts at our hygienic plant. We export fresh, frozen, and live seafood and fish worldwide. We hire foreign workers to fill labor or skill shortages on a temporary basis. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible. This position of Fish plant worker is approved by LMIA.

Job Description:

Salary: $17.00 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications such as a high school, bachelor’s degree, certificate, or a diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Work Setting: Hotel, motel, resort

Other Requirements:

The candidate should be a team player

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to check fish fillets to determine the optimal number and size of fillet sections, cut sections according to specifications, and place them in a container for weighing
  • The candidate should be able to check products and packaging for defects and ensure conformance to company standards and perform corrective machine adjustments as required
  • The candidate should be able to set up and operate machines to can, bag, box, or otherwise package fish and seafood products
  • The candidate should be able to set up and operate machines to clean, cut, cook, smoke, brine, dehydrate or otherwise process fish or seafood products
