Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence, Own transportation, and Public transportation is not available
Work setting: Rural area
Type of crops: Bell peppers, Blueberries, Cucumbers, Field berries, Garlic, Orchard fruit, Raspberries, Strawberries, Tomatoes, Zucchinis, Berries, and Vegetables

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Equipment and machinery experience: Fruit harvester, Planting equipment, and Hand tools
Security and safety: Bondable

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should have experience in floriculture production, fruit and vegetable combination farming, and organic farming
• The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and able to work in wet or damp conditions, hot environments, and cold or refrigerated environments
• The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• The candidates should be capable of performing repetitive tasks and handling heavy loads, as well as being physically capable of handling demanding tasks
• The candidates should possess manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination, along with the ability to distinguish between colors and demonstrate attention to detail
• The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and kneel as needed, and be comfortable with sitting and a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
• The candidates should be capable of walking and able to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

• The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and demonstrate flexibility
• The candidates should exercise good judgment and be organized
• The candidates should exhibit reliability and be team players
• The candidates should uphold strong values and ethics and be quick learners

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
• If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to apply fertilizers to crops according to recommended guidelines and schedules, cut agricultural crops efficiently and safely during harvest seasons, and hand-harvest vegetables carefully to avoid damage to the produce
• The candidates should be able to pack fruits and vegetables neatly and securely for transportation and market sale, pick row and orchard crops systematically to ensure maximum yield and quality, and plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops to promote healthy growth and optimal yield
• The candidates should be able to sort fruits and vegetables based on size, ripeness, and quality standards, tie and secure plants to support their growth and prevent damage from environmental factors, and weed fields and gardens to control weed growth and maintain crop health
• The candidates should be able to clean work areas regularly to ensure a safe and hygienic environment, fertilize and spray crops as needed to provide essential nutrients and protect against pests and diseases, and harvest crops efficiently and carefully to minimize damage and ensure freshness
• The candidates should be able to load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, and farm produce, livestock, and poultry safely and efficiently, and examine products for quality and readiness for the market, ensuring only high-quality items are sent for sale
