Salary: $15.00 to $18.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Calgary, AB
Shifts: Day, Weekend, Morning
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence and Own transportation
Work setting: Rural area and Urban area
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Area of specialization: Nursery or greenhouse
Equipment and machinery experience: Loader, Sprayer or duster, and Skidsteer
Type of product: Coniferous trees, Deciduous trees, Ferns, Native plants, and Perennials
Automated systems experience: Automated irrigation system
Own tools/equipment: Gloves, and Steel-toed safety boots
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and able to tolerate wet or damp conditions, dusty environments, hot conditions, cold or refrigerated environments, and all weather conditions
- The candidates should be prepared to work in dirty environments
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently and be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment
- The candidates should be capable of performing repetitive tasks efficiently, handling heavy loads effectively, and be prepared for physically demanding tasks
- The candidates should exhibit a strong attention to detail, be comfortable standing for extended periods, able to bend, crouch, and kneel as required, capable of walking for extended periods, and have experience with weight handling, up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing situations and tasks, be organized in managing their responsibilities and tasks efficiently, and be reliable in fulfilling their duties and meeting deadlines
- The candidates should be team players, collaborating effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals, and be quick learners, able to grasp new concepts and processes rapidly
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to clean the greenhouse, maintain a clean work area, and perform weeding tasks
- The candidates should be able to mix fertilizer appropriately, plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops
