Shifts: Day, Early Morning, Morning, 08:00 to 17:00
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence
Type of crops: Apples, Bell peppers, Cherries, Grapes, Orchard fruit, Tomatoes, Vegetables and Vineyard
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Area of specialization: Nursery or greenhouse
Equipment and machinery experience: Farm truck, Forklift, Loader, Tractor, Fertilizer applicator, Hand tools
Own tools/equipment: Gloves and Steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: First Aid Certificate, Pesticide Applicator’s Licence, Forklift Operator Certification
Security and safety: Medical exam
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should possess the ability to work independently, manage repetitive tasks, handle heavy loads including weights of up to 9 kg (20 lbs), 13.5 kg (30 lbs), and 23 kg (50 lbs), and work under tight deadlines in physically demanding conditions involving bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and walking
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to hand-harvest vegetables, clean crops, clip plants, train fruit trees, harvest seedlings, pick row and orchard crops, sucker plants, and maintain a clean work area
- The candidates should be able to clean greenhouses, mix fertilizer, fertilize, and spray crops, and operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- The candidates should be able to plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops, harvest crops, and maintain a clean work area
