Daily Bread Food Ban based in Etobicoke, ON is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of General accountant. Daily Bread Food Ban is a vital community organization dedicated to fighting hunger and food insecurity. As one of Canada’s largest food banks, they provide nutritious food and support to thousands of individuals and families in need. Through partnerships with food industry donors, volunteers, and community agencies, the Daily Bread Food Bank distributes essential food items to over 100 member agencies, including food banks, shelters, and meal programs. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 to less than 5 years
Area of specialization: Accounting
Computer and technology knowledge: Accounting software, SAP (FI/CO / HR / MM / OT SD), MS Office, Internet, MS Excel, MS Windows, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, and Sage Accounting Software

  • The candidates should be capable of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines and maintain accuracy and precision while doing so

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to plan, set up, and administer accounting systems, prepare financial information for individuals, departments, or companies, and prepare reports and audit findings
  • The candidates should be able to prepare financial statements and reports, recommend improvements to accounting systems and management practices, and prepare income tax returns from accounting records
  • The candidates should be able to review and examine financial services and institutions to ensure compliance with governing legislation and regulation, analyze financial documents and reports, and examine accounting records
  • The candidates should be able to provide financial, business, and tax advice, administer estate, personal, charitable, corporate, and other types of trusts, and conduct variance analysis
  • The candidates should be able to keep financial records and establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems, and oversee payroll administration
