Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have diploma in Nursing from a recognized post-secondary institution
Experience: Candidates should have experience in providing cleaning services

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should maintain a current and ongoing certificate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation-basic life support (CPR) or advanced cardiac life support (ACLS)
  • The candidates should be prepared for regular shifts, occasional overtime, and the requirement to escort patients in the ambulance to Winnipeg facilities
  • The candidates should have the ability to plan the provision of nursing service
  • The candidates should have the ability to instruct patients and their families in health and rehabilitative practices
  • The candidates should have the ability to communicate effectively orally
  • The candidates should have the ability to communicate effectively in writing

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be currently registered nurse in the province of employment and a member in good standing in that province
  • The candidates should be experienced in the provision of nursing care
  • The candidates should have knowledge of established practices and procedures of nursing
  • The candidates should have knowledge of Health Issues of First Nation Communities
  • The candidates should have a Reliability Status and should have medical clearance
  • The candidates should possess effective interpersonal relationships, be dependable, demonstrate good judgment, and be respectful of diversity

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide direct patient care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with activities of daily living
  • The candidates should be able to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and charts
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
  • The candidates should be able to respond to emergencies and provide immediate care and support
