Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided 
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience in fruit and vegetable combination farming, demonstrating knowledge of diverse crop cultivation practices
  • The candidates should be familiar with organic farming practices, adhering to environmentally friendly and sustainable agricultural methods
  • The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, embracing the challenges and rewards of outdoor work environments
  • The candidates should be able to work in wet or damp conditions, adapting to varying weather conditions to ensure farm operations continue efficiently
  • The candidates should be able to work in hot environments, enduring high temperatures while performing farm tasks effectively
  • The candidates should be able to work in all weather conditions, demonstrating resilience and adaptability to weather fluctuations throughout the year
  • The candidates should have the ability to work independently and be capable of handling repetitive tasks efficiently
  • The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads and be prepared for physically demanding work, demonstrating attention to detail
  • The candidates should possess hand-eye coordination, with the ability to distinguish between colors, and be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods, perform activities such as bending, crouching, and kneeling, and handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to hand harvest vegetables carefully to ensure product quality and minimize damage, demonstrating precision in harvesting techniques
  • The candidates should be able to harvest seedlings at the appropriate stage of growth for transplantation or sale, ensuring optimal plant health and viability
  • The candidates should be able to apply hoeing techniques between rows of crops to control weeds and maintain crop health, employing efficient weed management strategies
  • The candidates should be able to plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops following established agricultural practices, promoting healthy crop growth and development
  • The candidates should be able to divide freshly harvested produce into marketable and non-marketable lots based on quality standards, ensuring only high-quality products reach the market
  • The candidates should be able to conduct weeding activities to remove unwanted vegetation from crop fields, employing effective weed control measures to optimize crop yield
  • The candidates should be able to write daily progress reports detailing tasks completed and any notable observations, maintaining accurate records of farm activities
  • The candidates should be able to harvest crops efficiently and effectively, ensuring optimal yield and quality, maximizing productivity during harvest seasons
  • The candidates should be able to clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens to maintain hygienic conditions for livestock, upholding animal welfare standards
  • The candidates should be able to detect diseases and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry through observation and monitoring, implementing timely interventions to prevent disease spread
  • The candidates should be able to examine products for quality and readiness for the market, adhering to industry standards, ensuring only the highest-quality products are sent to market
