General Laborer
McCain based in Summerside is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of General Laborer. McCain is a well-known Canadian multinational frozen food company. Our company is the world’s largest manufacturer of frozen potato products. We are well-known for our French fries and specialty potato products. We work with understanding the importance that food plays in people’s lives – the power it has to bring people, families and communities together. Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates having standard educational qualification such as grade 12 education or GED preferred
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to perform tasks such as palletizing up to 50 lb. bags and or boxes of potatoes
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to relay information to other Team members including Supervisor and work in a fast-paced team environment
- The candidate should have the ability to work well with supervision and other employees and be a team player with excellent attendance
- The candidate should be highly motivated, observant with good initiative and a positive attitude and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment adapting to and embracing change as it occurs.
- The candidate should be willing to work some weekends and evenings and must be self-motivated, reliable and able to work with minimal supervision.
- The candidate must possess a good safety record and demonstrate “safety first’’ on a continual basis
- The candidate should have the ability to work varying hours, including some Saturdays and evenings as required
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to report to the Manager, McCain Produce & Fertilizer PEI and be responsible for following all safety requirements
- The candidate should be responsible for some sanitation duties
- The candidate should be able to participate in Team meetings, as required and perform other production duties as assigned
