Job Description:

Salary: $17.78 hourly
Employment Type: Full Time/Permanent
Location: Brampton, ON
Schedule: Overtime during the weekdays and on weekends
Shift: Day and afternoon (40 hours weekly)

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates must be available to work the day shift for training purposes
  • The candidates should be capable of handling all food products and working in a cold environment
  • The candidates should have ability to lift up to 50lbs

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to obtain pertinent information, evaluate information objectively, and explore alternative solutions to problems
  • The candidates should be actively finding new and improved ways of completing tasks
  • The candidates should interact and share information with employees at all levels, including Team members, Lead Hands, Supervisors, and others. Actively participating in their work group is expected
  • The candidates should be legally eligible to work and currently residing in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to take an active role in changeover procedures and achieve line speed efficiencies
  • The candidates should be able to manually pack products into bags, cartons, or other containers
  • The candidates should be able to remove finished goods cartons from the conveyor and place them on pallets
  • The candidates should be able to perform visual quality checks of the product against customer and internal specifications, including foreign materials and weight checks
  • The candidates should be able to maintain the cleanliness of areas of responsibility
  • The candidates should be able to adhere to individual Product Standard Operating Procedures for components and packaging materials
  • The candidates should be able to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with Health and Safety requirements, including ensuring power is shut down on equipment before specified tasks
  • The candidates should be able to frequently engage in pushing, pulling, and overhead reaching, as well as bending and standing and perform other tasks as assigned
