Salary: $15.30 to $16.50 hourly (To be negotiated) for 80 hours bi-weekly
Employment Type: Seasonal employment Full time
Location: Portage la Prairie, MB
Transportation information: Own transportation and Public transportation is not available
Work setting: Rural area
Type of products: Ferns, Perennials and Bedding plants
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience or education in floriculture production and be comfortable working outdoors in hot conditions
- The candidates should be non-smoking and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, being prepared for repetitive tasks
- The candidates should be physically fit to handle demanding tasks, stand for extended periods, including bending, crouching, and kneeling, and have a keen attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) when necessary
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills, fostering effective communication and collaboration, and demonstrate reliability in fulfilling their duties and meeting expectations
- The candidates should be team players, capable of working collaboratively towards common goals
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform greenhouse cleaning and weed, as well as assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants
- The candidates should be able to plant bulbs and seeds, pot and re-pot plants, and transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings
- The candidates should be able to report signs of insect or disease damage, water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and clean the work area
