Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of High School diploma
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of two years’ experience in general maintenance of GSE, automotive, farm or heavy industrial equipment

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work alone or assist mechanics as required in the installation or maintenance of GSE equipment
  • The candidates should be able to perform heavy physical work in both indoor and outdoor environments
  • The candidates should be available to work days, evenings, or nights, including weekends
  • The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of interest, at the time of any offer

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be familiar with procedures and equipment used by tradesmen and should have the ability to perform general maintenance work that requires basic manual skill
  • The candidates should be “team players” with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain a customer-focused attitude in a demanding, high-stress environment
  • The candidates should be able to successfully pass the pre-employment qualifying exam
  • The candidates should hold a valid driver’s license
  • The candidates should be able to obtain the ADM driver license (DA) to operate motor vehicles in the restricted area traffic zones (airside)
  • The candidates should meet Air Canada medical standards for safety-critical roles, which include undergoing a medical evaluation, drug and alcohol testing, and maintaining sobriety while on duty
  • The candidates should be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
  • The candidates should note that based on equal qualifications, preference will be given to bilingual candidates

  • The candidates should be able to assist as Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic Helpers at Air Canada
