Saint John Horticultural Association based in Saint John, NB is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Guard, security. Saint John Horticultural Association operates two greenhouses and a cold frame greenhouse where they grow plants and flowers. Most of these plants and flowers are used in the public gardens. We maintain the gardens all year round for general use at no charge to the public. We are highly focused on achieving excellent performance and delivering quality work at competitive rates, while also exceeding our clients expectations on every level. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence

Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to sit, stand, walk for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to work in outdoors
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be judgmental and reliable
- The candidates should have excellent oral communication, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to enforce regulations to maintain order and resolve conflicts and to monitor establishment activities
- The candidates should be able to prevent and detect shoplifting and theft in retail establishments
- The candidates should be able to report and document investigations and conclusions/recommendations
- The candidates should be able to complete reports
- The candidates should be able to patrol assigned areas to maintain public safety and order and to enforce laws and regulations
