S.P. Lodge based in Halifax, NS is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Guest service agent. S.P. Lodge is a locally owned and operated not-for-profit company since 1975. Our vision to provide a first rate hotel and food and beverage experience in Halifax for those undertaking health related travel. Our mission is to now welcome all travellers choosing to call us home when visiting Halifax. We are known to provide satisfaction to our customers, that they don’t have to go to any one else after getting the best services from us. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Early Morning and Morning
Work Setting: Urban area and hotel, motel, resort
Security and safety: Bondable and criminal record should checked

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Computer and technology knowledge: Candidates must have knowledge of Database software and internet

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work in fast-paced environment, work under pressure and also pay attention to detail

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work with being foused on the client, work in a flexible environment and also in an organized way
  • The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills and also an excellent oral and written communication
  • The candidate should be dependable, reliable, someone who can judge and also a team player

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to provide information on hotel facilities and services, provide general information about points of interest in the area and also provide customer service
  • The candidate should be able to register arriving guests and assign rooms, take, cancel and change room reservations, process guests’ departures, calculate charges and receive payments and also assist clients/guests with special needs
  • The candidate should be able to balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms, maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments, follow emergency and safety procedures, answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages, handle wake-up calls and also perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
