Salary: $16.55 hourly for 30 to 44 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Niagara on the lake, ON
Work setting: Staff accommodation provided and Relocation costs covered by employer
Type of crops: Vegetables
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be experienced in fruit and vegetable combination farming, demonstrating knowledge and skills in managing diverse crops
- The candidates should have expertise in harvesting crops, showcasing proficiency in the methods and techniques involved in the agricultural process
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to clean crops and work areas, hand-harvest vegetables, and pick row and orchard crops
- The candidates should be able to sort and pack fruits and vegetables, load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, and farm produce, livestock, and poultry, and report signs of insect or disease damage
- The candidates should be able to plant bulbs and seeds, plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops, and fertilize and spray crops
- The candidates should be able to assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants, examine produce for quality and prepare for the market, and perform clipping, deleafing, fruit tree training, mixing fertilizer, vegetable culling, and weeding
