The Home Depot based in Spruce Grove, AB is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Head Cashier. The Home Depot is the Canadian arm of the world’s largest home improvement retailer. Our company has 182 stores in 10 Canadian provinces. Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as high school, bachelor’s degree, a certificate or a diploma
Experience: Candidates need 1 year of supervisory experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to tap into their inner orange and oversee work activity within his/her department, motivating the team to consistently demonstrate Customer FIRST behaviors
  • The candidate should have driving awareness of current promotions by providing Front End associates with promotion locations so they can effectively direct customers, communicating store and Home Depot objectives to associates
  • The candidate should be able to train and supervise Cashiers (including cashiers in all remote cashier locations) and Lot Associates and also set clear performance expectations as well as providing on the job feedback
  • The candidate should be able to provide outstanding service to both external and internal Customers by ensuring efficient Front End and Remote Cashier operations and handle customer complaints in a professional manner
  • The candidate should be able to provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards and complete specific safety training, immediately correcting hazards ; unsafe conditions or reporting conditions to the Manager On Duty, and working safely as not to endanger themselves, co-workers, vendors, or customers
  • The candidate should possess minimum time in position and performance management code requirements of V2 (or P3 in previous system)
  • The candidate should have the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends Excellent communication skills and customer service skills and have the knowledge of all policies, procedures and duties related to customer transactions, cash handling, the service desk and lot
  • The candidate should have an excellent decision making ability and problem solving skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to thank customers and show them that he/she appreciates their business
  • The candidate should be accountable to ensure this occurs by carrying out the responsibilities listed in this description as well as holding the Front End associates accountable to effectively carry out their duties and responsibilities
