Salary: $19.56 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, On Call, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning
Work setting: Willing to relocate, nursing home/home for the aged

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Nursing Aide Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate, and Personal Support Worker Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, immunization records, tuberculosis test, and reference required

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be capable of performing repetitive tasks and demonstrate attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods and be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to supply and empty bedpans, take patients’ blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and serve meal trays and feed patients
  • The candidates should be able to weigh, lift, turn, and position patients, make beds and maintain patients’ rooms, and bathe, dress, and groom patients
  • The candidates should be able to transport patients in a wheelchair or stretcher, collect specimens, and accompany patients on outside recreational activities, performing other duties related to patient care and comfort
  • The candidates should be able to administer first aid in emergency situations, provide personal care and companionship, and perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • The candidates should be able to launder clothing and household linens, administer bedside and personal care, and feed or assist in feeding
  • The candidates should be able to assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
