Shifts: To be determined, 08:00 to 17:00
Target Audience: Females, Males, Over 12 years, Persons with a disability, Persons with an intellectual disability, Persons with mental health disabilities, Persons with physical disabilities, School age (6 – 12 years) and Young adults
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 years to less than 5 years
Security and safety: Criminal record check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be non-smoking and have experience with programs dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- The candidates should be proficient in bending, crouching, and kneeling, and comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
- The candidates should be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment and experienced in handling heavy loads
- The candidates should be willing to work overtime when required and physically fit to handle demanding tasks
- The candidates should be skilled in handling repetitive tasks and comfortable sitting for extended periods
- The candidates should be capable of standing for extended periods, able to walk as part of their duties, and work under pressure
- The candidates should be able to lift between 45 and 60 kg (100-132 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate punctuality in their work, be dedicated to client focus, and exhibit dependability in their responsibilities
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills, have excellent oral communication skills, and demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing situations
- The candidates should show initiative in their work, exercise good judgment in their decision-making, and be highly organized
- The candidates should exhibit reliability in their work, be effective team players, and be quick learners
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to care for pets and administer bedside and personal care
- The candidates should be able to administer medications and assist clients in water (i.e., pool)
- The candidates should be able to assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, assist in regular exercise, e.g., walk, and assume full responsibility for the household (in the absence of the householder)
- The candidates should be able to feed or assist in feeding, launder clothing and household linens, and perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
- The candidates should be able to plan therapeutic diets and menus, provide companionship, and provide personal care
- The candidates should be able to shop for food and household supplies, prepare and serve nutritious meals, and implement behavior management programs
