Salary: $217,525 to $235,535 annually (To be negotiated) for 75 hours bi-weekly
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: 86 High Rd South Carbonear, NL A1Y 1A4
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, On Call, Early Morning, Morning
Work setting: Hospital (staff position), Rural area and Rural community health centres

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Specialization in clinical medicine: Emergency medicine
Credentials: Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure while managing a large workload
  • The candidates should be physically fit for demanding tasks, with attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity
  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, able to stand for extended periods and walk as needed
  • The candidates should have the ability to distinguish between colors and be adept at handling repetitive tasks
  • The candidates should be willing to work overtime as required and capable of handling a large caseload

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to prescribe and administer medications and treatments.
  • The candidates should be able to examine patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures
  • The candidates should be able to consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients’ physical and mental health
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate or manage primary patient care
  • The candidates should be able to provide acute care management
