Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a High School diploma or equivalent education
Experience: Candidates should have Previous housekeeping experience is an asset
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be capable of lifting and carrying cleaning supplies, equipment, and linens
- The candidate should have the ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements associated with cleaning tasks
- The candidate should be comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and following safety protocols
- The candidate should be able to navigate and clean various areas within the facility, including resident rooms, common areas, and other spaces
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate a high level of initiative for and commitment to completing housekeeping assignments efficiently and in a warm, friendly, and customer-service-oriented manner
- The candidates should have the ability to communicate well with internal and external customers to meet needs in a polite, courteous, and cooperative manner
- The candidates should be capable of working independently with minimal supervision and can safely use chemical cleaning agents and equipment
- The candidates should be able to provide a clear criminal record check upon hire
- The candidates should have a passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to thoroughly clean common areas, including lobbies, hallways, and stairwells
- The candidates should be able to perform sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning and sanitizing kitchens and bathrooms
- The candidates should be able to thoroughly clean vacant rooms to prepare for incoming residents
- The candidates should be able to collect refuse from residents’ rooms and dispose of this refuse in accordance with set procedures
- The candidates should be able to clean and restock the housekeeping cart and notify the Supervisor when supplies are low
- The candidates should promote a safety culture by continuously working safely, including identifying and reporting hazards, following safe work practices and procedures, wearing personal protective equipment, supporting others to work safely, and completing safety education
