Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or Intermediate or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have at least 6 months of fundamental knowledge and practical experience related to tasks and responsibilities

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to sit with arms unsupported while keyboarding occasionally
  • The candidates should be capable of meeting multiple deadlines occasionally
  • The candidates should be able to focus on a variety of source data and computer for short periods occasionally
  • The candidates should primarily work in an office setting but may occasionally attend work sites

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to organize and prioritize work effectively
  • The candidates should demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The candidates should understand and carry out job-related instructions proficiently
  • The candidates should have the ability to learn quickly and independently

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to participate in the collection of data for engineering projects and follow up on traffic safety concerns from residents and able to respond to questions from staff and outside agencies regarding city projects
  • The candidates should be able to research and analyze data, prepare reports such as summaries of findings, draft reports, procedures, and/or practices, and present them to the supervisor for feedback and/or next steps
  • The candidates should be able to assist with production and updating of engineering drawings, maps, statistical reports, and presentations and able to inspect construction sites for design, specifications, and safety standards
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate closely and actively participate in feedback sessions with a supervisor to contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization’s operations
  • The candidates should be able to utilize tools and software platforms under the direct guidance of their supervisor and able to participate actively in the development and enhancement of projects aligned with the department’s strategic goals
  • The candidates should be able to provide valuable field and/or office support to ensure the successful execution of assigned projects and able to attend and actively participate in educational activities that enhance their knowledge and skills, aligning with IMPACT program objectives and the department’s needs
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with team members to facilitate shared learning and contribute to the evaluation and implementation of innovative solutions while maintaining detailed records of their work process, including any challenges encountered and problem-solving approaches employed
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with colleagues from different departments or teams on cross-functional projects to gain a broader perspective and develop a well-rounded skill set supporting their knowledge and success in a municipal career
