Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a Plumber – Red Seal Certificate or CCQ “Compagnon” Card and should have completed Community College electrical/mechanical training
Experience: Candidates should have 5 years of hands-on experience working in a fast-paced multi-facility environment, with a focus on providing the best possible service to a demanding group of Tenants

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to plan and prioritize tasks in a self-directed work environment and maintain high levels of productivity without direct supervision
  • The candidates should have the ability to communicate effectively and provide direction to contractors and vendors performing services for the company
  • The candidates must have the ability to learn quickly, work autonomously, and address any issues that arise day or night
  • The candidates should be detail-oriented
  • The candidates should be willing to provide on-call support in case of emergencies or other off-hours issues
  • The candidates should have the ability to work at heights

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have work experience in maintaining and repairing a variety of life safety systems, plumbing, and building repairs
  • The candidates should exhibit strong customer service and problem-solving aptitude
  • The candidates should hold a valid Driver’s license with a good driving record
  • The candidates should possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The candidates should possess a 5th Class power engineer ticket, which is required as part of their probation
  • The candidates should conduct safety-critical work, and as such, Air Canada medical standards must be met in order to qualify for the role. The candidates will be subject to a medical evaluation, including a drug and alcohol test, and are expected to be free of any intoxicating substances
  • The candidates must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
  • The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of interest, at the time any offer of employment is made, and seeking any required work permits/visas or other authorizations, which may be required, is the sole responsibility of the candidates applying for this position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to respond to the reported plumbing problems and faults by our internal customers
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate a high level of organization as there are many tools that are needed to be used for different functions and plumbing processes
  • The candidates should be able to acquire troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical, as well as other technical skills highly recommended for aspiring plumbers
  • The candidates should be able to be aware of the safety and quality standards that are needed to be applied in plumbing services
  • The candidates should be able to perform weekly maintenance and run up to our Fire suppression system throughout the Hangars
  • The candidates should be able to work in a general capacity with a basic understanding of electrical safety
  • The candidates should be able to provide support to various internal business units to perform a wide variety of services, ensuring that special events are successful
  • The candidates should be able to respond to emergencies, including nights and weekends when on call, to correct unsafe or hazardous conditions
  • The candidates should be able to consider Community College electrical/mechanical training as an asset
