Salary: $26.00 to $28.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 24 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Part time leading to full time
Location: Courtenay, BC
Shifts: Day, To be determined, 08:30 to 16:30
Work setting: Child care centre
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, and Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to handle a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
- The candidates should be able to perform bending, crouching, and kneeling as needed
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be punctual and dependable
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and demonstrate flexibility
- The candidates should exhibit reliability and be team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, and assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, and maintain daycare equipment while assisting in housekeeping and cooking duties
- The candidates should be able to prepare snacks, arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, and establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
