Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration
Experience: Candidates should have 3 years’ experience in the field of Office Administration

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to conduct basic academic counselling and provide life skill coaching
  • The candidates should have a detailed theoretical and practical understanding of the specific subject matter of instruction
  • The candidates should provide a satisfactory criminal record check

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have ability to research and update course materials and delivery methods to maintain current programs
  • The candidates should have knowledge of adult education theory, program design, development, management, delivery, and evaluation
  • The candidates should possess knowledge of adult instructional methods, program/project development and management, needs assessment, and curriculum development
  • The candidates should have familiarity with educational issues in the NWT and an understanding of the challenges that adult students face in NWT communities
  • The candidates should have knowledge of all applicable laws, acts, regulations, rules, policies, guidelines, requirements, and codes in the specific subject matter of instruction
  • The candidates should have proficiency in computer programs such as word processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and internet programs
  • The candidates should have knowledge of northern culture, cross-cultural processes, and politics
  • The candidates should have 2 years’ instructional experience in the field of Office Administration in post-secondary and 2 years’ experience working with Aboriginal governments or Northern community governance structures

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to instruct in a variety of programs such as the Office Administration Program and Business Administration Diploma Program, and must be devoted to developing and delivering quality programs and courses, promoting positive career development of adult students within communities of the Northwest Territories
  • The candidates should be able to conduct needs assessments and develop, deliver, and evaluate programming to meet those needs
  • The candidates should be able to act as a representative of the College within the community and therefore plays a critical role in creating and promoting a positive image for the College

Benefits:

  • The candidates will get an annual Northern Allowance of $14,661
