Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of an accredited nursing education program
Experience: Candidates should have 5 years of recent clinical experience in acute care and or emergency

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be active or eligible for registration and possess a practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • The candidates should hold a current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • The candidates should have a minimum of 1 year of experience in Labour & Delivery, covering prenatal to post-partum care
  • The candidates should not have been away from nursing for more than one year
  • The candidates should have experience or training in adult education, particularly in Connect Care training and specific experience in the Operating Room

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to support the professional development and ongoing continuing education of the dedicated acute care and emergency staff at the very busy facility of St. Therese in St. Paul, AB
  • The candidates should be able to plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate education for teams, including orientation, compulsory, continuing education, and clinical development
  • The candidates should be able to provide resources, consultation, and ensure clinical competencies and organizational standards are maintained
  • The candidates should be able to use strong communication skills while collaborating with other departments, seeking information on best practices, determining implementation methods using innovative solutions, identifying and overcoming barriers, and developing procedures to reflect best practices
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that health care providers are supported to provide patient and family-centered care
  • The candidates should be able to take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of education for nursing staff, including orientation, compulsory, and continuing education, as well as clinical development
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational, and evidence-informed practice
  • The candidates should be able to play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS
