Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess an Interprovincial Industrial Electrician certificate and Journeyman status
  • The candidates should be available for variable shifts depending on the offered schedules
  • The candidates should be open to on-site training as required

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to troubleshoot and repair production equipment, including circuitry, relay logic, and sensors
  • The candidates should be able to carry out basic electrical construction work such as conduit, wiring, and fixtures
  • The candidates should be able to read and interpret PLC logic, work on PLC components, and troubleshoot
  • The candidates should be able to recognize and make provisions for safe electrical work techniques, including identifying arc flash hazards, obtaining hot work permits, and adhering to NS provincial/CSA regulations
  • The candidates should be able to support other maintenance staff with daily activities as required and participate in maintenance documentation
  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented processing and manufacturing environment and should be willing to work in a rotating shift environment with occasional overtime, weekend work, and on-call duties
