Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 5 years or more
Area of specialization: Engine repair, 4-wheel drive, Alignment, steering and suspension, Brake system, Hydraulic system, Fuel and emission system, Ignition and electrical system, Standard transmission, Drive train components, Imported vehicles, and Front end components
Own tools/equipment: Tools
Credentials: Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification and Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Transportation/travel information, Valid driver’s licence, and Drive manual transmission vehicle
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have good hand-eye coordination, and have strong attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be accurate, dependable, reliable, and punctual
- The candidates should have excellent written communication skills, demonstrate good judgment, and be team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to inspect and test mechanical units and automotive systems to locate faults and malfunctions, inspect the motor in operation, and road test motor vehicles
- The candidates should be able to adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems, repair or replace mechanical units or components, and test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications
- The candidates should be able to confirm findings with the supervisor, discuss work with the supervisor, and review work orders
- The candidates should be able to perform scheduled maintenance service, test and adjust units to specifications, and complete reports to record problems and work performed
- The candidates should be able to advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements, and coach and instruct apprentices
