Salary: $31.89 to $40.15 hourly (To be negotiated) for 8 to 35 hours per week

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Area of specialization: Geriatrics
Credentials: Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work, CPR Certificate and  First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records and Tuberculosis test

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to administer medication, observe, and document therapeutic effects to ensure patient well-being
  • The candidates should be able to take vital signs, apply aseptic techniques, including sterile dressing, ensure infection control, monitor nutritional intake, and conduct specimen collection for comprehensive patient care
  • The candidates should be able to provide pre-operative and post-operative personal and comfort care, enhancing the overall patient experience
  • The candidates should be able to monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy, ensuring patients receive appropriate medical support
  • The candidates should be able to provide safety and health education to individuals and their families, promoting well-being and preventive care
  • The candidates should be able to provide nursing services within the defined scope of practice, delivering care based on patient assessment and care planning procedures
  • The candidates should be able to monitor patients’ progress, evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions, and consult with appropriate members of the healthcare team for comprehensive patient management
