Salary: $31.89 to $40.15 hourly (To be negotiated) for 8 to 35 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Part time leading to full time
Location: Abbotsford, BC
Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Area of specialization: Geriatrics
Credentials: Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work, CPR Certificate, and First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records, and Tuberculosis test

Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to administer medication accurately, observe therapeutic effects, and document findings meticulously
- The candidates should be able to perform various medical tasks including taking vital signs, applying aseptic techniques, monitoring nutritional intake, and collecting specimens following established protocols
- The candidates should be able to offer pre-operative and post-operative care to patients, ensuring their comfort and addressing their personal needs
- The candidates should be capable of monitoring respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy to maintain patient safety and comfort effectively
- The candidates should be skilled in providing safety and health education to patients and their families, emphasizing wellness and preventive measures
- The candidates should deliver nursing services to patients within the defined scope of practice, guided by patient assessments and care planning procedures
- The candidates should monitor patients’ progress, assess the effectiveness of nursing interventions, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care
