Salary: $20.00 to $25.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 4 to 16 hours bi-weekly
Employment Type: Casual employment Part time
Location: Toronto, ON
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, On Call, Flexible Hours, To be determined, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Own transportation and Public transportation is available
Work setting: Urban area, Rural area, Landscape contractor, Remote location, Various locations, Landscape maintenance, Park and recreation sites, Private residence, and Greenhouse
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Internship: This position is a paid internship that encourages on-the-job learning and skill development. It is aimed at any candidate who wishes to acquire work experience or explore a career
Area of work experience: Cleaning and Snow removal
Equipment and machinery experience: Weed trimmer/edger
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Security and safety: Criminal record check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and be capable of meeting tight deadlines
- The candidates should be comfortable with repetitive tasks, able to handle heavy loads, and work in physically demanding conditions
- The candidates should have good manual dexterity, demonstrate attention to detail, and possess hand-eye coordination
- The candidates should have the ability to distinguish between colors, be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be able to walk
- The candidates should be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling, and be comfortable working outdoors
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assist with landscape constructions, tie and secure plants, and weed, prune, and trim trees and plants
- The candidates should be able to cut grass, rake and collect refuse, and remove litter and garbage
- The candidates should be able to cart and spread topsoil and other materials, lay sod or seed, and plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees
- The candidates should be able to apply fertilizers, write daily basic progress reports, and water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens
- The candidates should be able to operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment and perform tree removal
