Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years
Computer and technology knowledge: Spreadsheet, Legal software applications, MS Office, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Windows

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate attention to detail, while being capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be accurate and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication, while exhibiting flexibility and organization
  • The candidates should focus on clients, demonstrate reliability, and be team players

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist lawyers by interviewing clients, witnesses, and other related parties, assembling documentary evidence, preparing trial briefs, and arranging for trials with attention to detail and adherence to legal procedures
  • The candidates should be able to draft contracts, prepare promissory notes, and draw up wills, mortgages, and other legal documents accurately and in compliance with legal requirements
  • The candidates should be able to administer oaths, take affidavits and depositions, and perform these duties with precision and professionalism
  • The candidates should be able to establish work priorities for court staff, ensuring efficient operation and adherence to deadlines, as well as arrange pre-trial conferences and hearings efficiently, coordinating schedules and documentation as necessary
  • The candidates should be able to prepare wills, real estate transactions, and other legal documents, court reports, and affidavits meticulously, reflecting a strong understanding of legal terminology and requirements, and draft legal correspondence and perform general office and clerical duties accurately, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
  • The candidates should be able to explain rights and obligations to defendants clearly and comprehensively, ensuring understanding and compliance with legal processes
