Salary: $125.00 to $150.00 hourly (to be negotiated) 30 to 40 hours per week Minimum wage is guaranteed

Location: Burnaby, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Flexible Hours
Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer, Private practice
Supervision: 1 to 2 people
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Computer and technology knowledge: MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Windows, MS Word
Credentials: Membership in a provincial or territorial law society
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- The candidates should be able to work in tight deadlines and with attention to detail
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be accurate, client focus, dependable, organized, initiative, flexible, reliable, and judgmental
- The candidates should have values and ethics, interpersonal awareness, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to advise clients of their legal rights and all matters related to law, plead clients’ cases before courts of law, tribunals and boards (lawyers only)
- The candidates should be able to draw up legal documents and prepare statements of legal opinion, negotiate settlements of civil disputes (lawyers only)
- The candidates should be able to perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law, represent interests of corporation/employer in all business related to legal matters
- The candidates should be able to supervise professional, para-legal and support staff and articling students
- The candidates should be able to research legal precedents and gather evidence
