Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience making deliveries or working as a driver is essential, demonstrating familiarity with delivery processes

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should have the physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day
  • The candidate should demonstrate the ability to work in all types of weather conditions

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should possess a valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a safe driving record for at least 3 years, and be prepared to provide a driver’s abstract
  • The candidate should be available to be on-call as required by the job responsibilities
  • The candidate should have experience in customer service, showcasing the ability to interact effectively with customers and address their needs

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to start their day in the depot, sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries
  • The candidates should be able to load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle
  • The candidates should be able to spend most of their day outside, delivering mail and packages by foot or by vehicle to customers on their route
  • The candidates should be able to return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail and packages for later delivery
