Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience in customer service and making deliveries or working as a driver

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work in all types of weather conditions
  • The candidates should be available to be on-call as required

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s license with a safe driving record for at least 3 years, with a driver’s abstract required
  • The candidates should have the ability to read, write, and speak English and/or French

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to start their day in the depot, sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries
  • The candidates should be capable of loading and driving a Canada Post postal vehicle
  • The candidates should be prepared to spend most of their day outside, delivering mail and packages by foot or by vehicle to customers on their route
  • The candidates should be ready to return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail and packages for later delivery
