Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
Experience: Candidates should have Rural Acute Care and ER experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be active or eligible for registration and possess a practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
  • The candidates should hold a current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • The candidates should preferably have CTAS and Lead II qualifications
  • The candidates should have completed CLPNA restricted activities modules
  • The candidates should have completed ENPEP modules
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work to full scope

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to administer medication and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring accurate dosage, proper techniques, and timely delivery while maintaining patient safety
  • The candidates should be able to assess and monitor patients’ physical and mental health conditions, promptly recognizing any changes or abnormalities, and effectively communicate findings to the healthcare team for collaborative decision-making
  • The candidates should be able to provide compassionate and personalized care to patients, addressing their physical and emotional needs, promoting health education, and fostering a supportive environment that contributes to the overall well-being of individuals under their care
