Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program, Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
Experience: Candidates should have experience in Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should stand and walk for extended periods, delivering patient care in diverse healthcare settings such as hospital wards or clinics
  • The candidates should have proficient manual dexterity for tasks like administering medications, dressing wounds, and operating medical equipment with precision

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess ample visual acuity for precise observation and assessment of patients’ conditions, reading medical charts, and safely administering medications
  • The candidates should demonstrate clear and effective communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, involving proficiency in speaking, listening, and providing written documentation

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to utilize nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • The candidates should be able to act according to their education, experience, demonstrated skill level, and AHS policies and procedures
  • The candidates should be able to play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care
