Salary: $31.00 hourly 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time

Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, Morning
Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged
Area of specialization: Palliative care, Geriatrics

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years’
Credentials: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, be physically demanding, and a repetitive tasker
  • The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to do manual dexterity

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be accurate, client focus, dependable, flexible, and reliable
  • The candidates should have efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to administer medication and observe and document therapeutic effects
  • The candidates should be able to take vital signs, apply aseptic techniques including sterile dressing, ensure infection control, monitore nutritional intake and conduct specimen collection
  • The candidates should be able to provide pre-operative and post-operative personal and comfort care
  • The candidates should be able to monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy
  • The candidates should be able to provide safety and health education to individuals and their families
  • The candidates should be able to provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures
  • The candidates should be able to monitor patients’ progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of healthcare team
