Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have National Lifeguard Pool Option Certificate
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should undergo a Police Record Check
  • The candidates should obtain clearance, which requires the absence of any criminal charges or convictions

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have an LSS – Swim Instructor Certificate
  • The candidates should possess a CPR – “C” Certificate
  • The candidates should hold Standard First Aid or an equivalent certification
  • The candidates should be certified as a BCRPA Fitness Registered Instructor (Aquafit Module) and Lifesaving Instructor

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide swim instruction, pool supervision, maintenance, and emergency medical care
  • The candidates should be able to facilitate safe community recreation for everyone through integration, inclusion, and participation in aquatic recreation
  • The candidates should be able to provide every member and guest with support and excellence in customer service
  • The candidates should be able to teach and evaluate all age groups and all levels of swimming, including specialized areas of instruction
  • The candidates should be able to supervise all visitors and administer first aid when necessary
  • The candidates should be able to perform routine facility maintenance and other related duties as required
