Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Own tools/equipment: Tools, Uniform, Safety equipment/gear, Equipment, Steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: Housekeeping room attendant certification, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
Security and safety: Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Child Abuse Registry check, Reference required
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be non-smokers and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
- The candidates should be comfortable with repetitive tasks, capable of handling heavy loads, and physically demanding, with attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to handle a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, stand for extended periods, and be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling
- The candidates should be comfortable with sitting and walking and open to overtime requirements
- The candidates should be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs), 45 kg (100 lbs), 9 kg (20 lbs), and 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors, dust furniture, and vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture
- The candidates should be able to make beds, change sheets, distribute clean towels and toiletries, and stock the linen closet
- The candidates should be able to clean, disinfect, and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances, as well as disinfect operating rooms and other areas
- The candidates should be able to clean and disinfect elevators, handle and report lost and found items, attend to guests’ requests for extra supplies or other items, and provide basic information on facilities
- The candidates should be able to pick up debris, empty trash containers, wash windows, walls, and ceilings, clean changing rooms and showers, and address customers’ complaints or concerns
- The candidates should be able to shop for food and household supplies, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, mend clothing and linens, launder clothing and household linens, and assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
