Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Target audience: Supervise and care for multi-aged group of children
Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR
Security and safety: Reference required
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be non-smoking
- The candidates should be prepared for physically demanding tasks and demonstrate attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to handle weights up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and demonstrate excellent oral communication abilities
- The candidates should exhibit flexibility in their approach to tasks and situations, maintain organizational skills in managing tasks and responsibilities, and demonstrate reliability in fulfilling commitments and meeting deadlines
- The candidates should function effectively as team players, fostering collaboration and cooperation
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, and shop for food and household supplies
- The candidates should be able to travel with the family on trips, assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties, and wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens
- The candidates should be able to care for pets, bathe, dress, and feed infants and children, and discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
- The candidates should be able to instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children, and maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
- The candidates should be able to organize activities such as games and outings for children, prepare and serve nutritious meals, and prepare infants and children for rest periods
- The candidates should be able to sterilize bottles, prepare formulas, and change diapers for infants, supervise and care for children, and tend to the emotional well-being of children
- The candidates should be able to take children to and from school and to appointments
