Sumas Mountain Farms based in Abbotsford, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Livestock attendant. Sumas Mountain Farms is a renowned organic farm specializing in sustainable and ethical farming practices. Dedicated to producing high-quality organic meat products, they raise grass-fed and grass-finished beef, pasture-raised pork, and free-range chicken. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $18.00 hourly for 25 to 35 hours per week

Shifts: Day
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence and ability to drive manual transmission vehicle
Work setting: Rural area
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Area of specialization: Green economy sector and specialized environmental skills and knowledge
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience in livestock combination farming and be familiar with organic farming practices
- The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and have knowledge of livestock management
- The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work effectively under pressure, managing a large workload and willing to work overtime when required
- They should be physically fit to handle demanding tasks, perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail, and be skilled in handling heavy loads
- The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, as well as capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as needed
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, possess efficient interpersonal skills, and exercise good judgment
- The candidates should also be highly organized, effective team players, and demonstrate flexibility
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to maintain work records and logs, as well as perform general farm duties
