Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be capable of working effectively in noisy environments and in environments with various odors
  • The candidates should be comfortable working in cold or refrigerated conditions, as well as in wet or damp environments
  • The candidates should be adaptable to outdoor work settings
  • The candidates should be adept at handling repetitive tasks efficiently and have experience in handling heavy loads safely and effectively
  • The candidates should be prepared for physically demanding work assignments, demonstrate manual dexterity in performing tasks accurately, and exhibit attention to detail in all aspects of their work
  • The candidates should possess strong hand-eye coordination for precision tasks, be comfortable standing for extended periods during work shifts, and be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as required by the job
  • The candidates should be willing to work overtime when necessary and be able to handle weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs) as part of their job responsibilities

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills for effective communication and collaboration, as well as demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing work requirements and environments
  • The candidates should exhibit reliability in fulfilling job responsibilities consistently and on time, while being team players, able to work collaboratively with colleagues towards common goals

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to unload fish and shellfish from fishing vessels and transport them by hand or forklift truck to the work area, as well as transport fish and shellfish to the work area
  • The candidates should be able to check products and packaging for defects and ensure conformance to company standards, performing corrective machine adjustments as required, while accurately recording production information
  • The candidates should be able to weigh fish or shellfish, record weight, and pack fish in ice efficiently, clean machines and immediate work areas thoroughly, and sort fish according to species, weight, and destination meticulously
