Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications such as a high school, bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset.
Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver’s License (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, AZ class license
Communication Systems Experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment; Citizens band (CB) radio
Transportation/Travel Experience: National, International, Provincial/territorial, Long-haul
Physical Requirements:

Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to handle transport and handle dangerous goods
- The candidate should be able to perform preventive maintenance
- The candidate should be able to perform emergency roadside repairs
- The candidate should be able to perform brake adjustments
- The candidate should be able to load and unload goods
- The candidate should be able to receive and relay information to the central dispatch
- The candidate should be able to operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- The candidate should be able to do tarping and ensure the safety and security of cargo
- The candidate should be able to drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
- The candidate should be able to oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
- The candidate should be able to obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
- The candidate should be able to record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
- The candidate should be able to perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
- The candidate should be able to maintain accident or incident reports
- The candidate should be able to maintain trip reports
- The candidate should be able to do trans-border documentation
- The candidate should be able to maintain and repair reports
- The candidate should be able to make an inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
- The candidate should be able to maintain dangerous goods occurrence reports
- The candidate should be able to drive a logbook
- The candidate should be able to make a bill of lading
