Salary: $20.00 to $26.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week

Work setting: General manufacturing

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Equipment and machinery experience: Milling machines and use computer numerical control (CNC) machines
Measuring tools: Micrometers, Callipers, Calibre, Gauges, and Verniers
Credentials: Machinist Trade Certification

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should have fast-paced environment and should do repetitive tasks
  • The candidate should be able to stand for extended periods and have attention to detail

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should have dependability and should be a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts
  • The candidates should be able to measure and lay out workpieces in preparation for assembly
  • The candidates should be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables
  • The candidates should be able to maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments
  • The candidates should be able to maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
  • The candidates should be able to verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
  • The candidates should be able to set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools
