Irwin’s Machining & Welding Ltd based in Oxbow, SK is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Machinist, CNC (computer numerical control). Irwin’s Machining & Welding Ltd shop is furnished with state of the art equipment, including 3 CNC Lathes. We have recently added a CNC Plasma Cutter and can do many exciting things with it. The Welding Shop is a going concern, we also have a Portable Welding Machine for field jobs. One of the manufacturing projects we are most proud of is the Portable Catwalk Trailer, designed by Cory and built in house. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as registered Apprenticeship certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years’
Credentials: Machinist Red Seal Endorsment, Machinist Trade Certification
Physical Requirements:

- The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be dependable, and initiative

Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables, repair machine tools and parts
- The candidates should be able to set up and adjust production machineries/tools, fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance
- The candidates should be able to maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments, document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances
- The candidates should be able to maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports, verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
- The candidates should be able to compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces
- The candidates should be able to set up, operate and maintain a variety of conventional and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools
- The candidates should be able to verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
